To create an oversight committee that will strictly enforce the validity of courses offered for accreditation in nonprofit management expand technology-based educational and communications offerings to nonprofit organizations on a national and international basis increase Statewide support by establishing satellite FANO offices throughout Florida
 
WHAT WE DO?
FANO, like other state alliances of nonprofits affiliated with the National Council of Nonprofits, is working to provide programs in six areas:

 

Help – FANO hosts a toll-free helpline which has offered assistance to nonprofit executives for the past 17 years on a variety of subjects, acting as a clearinghouse of information.  In additional to its comprehensive website, FANO publishes an e-newsletter offering job listings, event calendars, legislative updates and briefings.

 

Education - FANO provides a curriculum of eleven (11) full day classes culminating in a Certificate in Nonprofit Management with support of academic partners.

 

Advocacy – FANO is your strong voice in Tallahassee and Washington, and the "go-to" organization for decision-makers seeking public policy information on nonprofits.  

 

Research – FANO researches vital issues, best practices, innovations, trends and  demographics, publishing the first  nonprofit economic impact study that put nonprofits on the map as an industry.

 

Training - FANO provides an annual conference and partners with technical assistance providers to develop capacity training assistance and outreach.  

 

Savings – FANO puts the collective-buying power of its membership to work to save member organizations time and money as well as capacity-building consulting services.
